In 1996 Benwin licensed NXT flat panel technology, and by applying advanced engineering along with cutting-edge laser technology and modeling,  broke every rule in loudspeaker design, and inroduced the world's first true flat panel multimedia speaker system. The BW2000, introduced in 1997, proved that not only was it possible to create a truly flat panel speaker which required no speaker cone, but it was also possible to make it sound good.
