Yahoo and
Google are the most used search engines, and therefore the most difficult
to be listed in.
You should
understand that search engine indexes and positions change with time yet nearly all of the
examples below should result in #1 or #2 page results, or did last time I
checked.
I use
this web page to show others the type of 1st and 2nd page search engine
rankings I can achieve for them, and to track my own.
Some marked with an ' * ' need to have pages adjusted which I checked but
have not had the time to evaluate and adjust. SEO does work immediately
yet is also an ongoing process since the Internet and search engines are
not static. However, minor adjustments from time to time will regain top
positions if they are lost.
This is a short list of examples. Many other search terms and
phrases result in 1st and 2nd page rank as well.
Note that
rankings change over time. Some below may no longer be in top positions
yet were for a good period of time. If noticed, I would make updates
that would help these regain #1 positions.
Since the
Internet constantly changes, SEO is an ongoing process - however - after
establishing top results requires only tweaking and updates.
This works
so well, however, that I had to place special search engine NO INDEX, NO
FOLLOW code on this page to avoid de-listing.

These
are examples on Sites I personally own.
I do not provide samples from my client's Sites that I have helped
optimize to avoid competitors seeing the results... but they're just as
good or better.
If
you searched with the above keywords you noticed that each returned a
real, non-paid, non-sponsored result at the top of the first or second
page of search engine results, or very
near. No pay per click and none were paid for. Some may have changed
position though I can also fix that!
The search engine optimization technique that I have developed really does
work, and works short and long term.
In the event positions change, (which can happen over a period of months
but normally longer), I have methods to regain top position. Position may
drop but rarely disappears, and all SEO experts realize that SEO is an
ongoing process.

GOOGLE and YAHOO are not the only search engines you
can try the above searches in - yet they are the primary search engines
today - powering many others.
You

(which delivers results from a number of search engines).
What's
the advantage (other than the obvious)?
Similar to
comparing ads to editorial in magazines; or network feature stories to commercials
on television; there is no greater or more believable result than real
non-paid search engine results. Plus, doing SEO the way Rob does will make your Site more useful for visitors.
If you were
considering direct mail or advertising, in many cases a web Site that is
search engine optimized will get new business, give you the option to
print various web pages (avoiding commercial printing costs), and enable
you to contact prospects and send them links to your web Site to learn
more. You might even include PDF brochures, though web pages can easily be
printed as well.
Why does this work?
There are no tricks (and trying to trick the search
engines can result in being de-listed altogether).
You cannot pay for top
search engine results - however - if you know how to write and design for
the search engines, you will get top search engine results.
You do not need to submit pages to hundreds of search engines (as some may
lead you to believe), there's no tricky code, there's no 'magic pill', and
connections to people inside the search engine companies will not help
increase your search engine ranking.
Rob's techniques will cause your pages to be found by the search engines
and make your pages more relevant and useful for potential customers that
do find your pages.
Though you may also pay for placement
- also known as pay-per-click, sponsored listings, etc. (which is
costly), doesn't it make sense to get real placement Users trust? Do you
find the 'non-sponsored (real) results' more relevant? Most often they are
more relevant.
