FAQ
How will my Organization benefit from QTL?
- By displaying the QT Mark logo you are ensuring that you
Organization has been reviewed by an independent third-party.
- You will adhere to all current bylaws of the internet by having
clear ethics and privacy statements.
- You are connecting yourself with the Highest level of consumer
trust.
- Customers will see the QTL logo and immediately recognize that
your Organization is trustworthy and ethical.
- Customers
will see your commitment because you have agreed to be financially
penalized for non-compliance of your Code.
- A press release will be sent out by QTL announcing to the world
that your Organization has just made the commitment to its
customers.
I
already use TrustE and have signed up with the BBB. Why do I need QTL?
- When
an Organization agrees to the QTL Code of Ethics AND agrees to be
financially penalized for violations of that Code AND provides
consideration in the form of re-imbursement to the customer, the
Organization is showing it's full commitment to the customer.
- Other
certification/licensing Organizations do not financially penalize
for non-compliance and furthermore, do not compensate the user for
that non-compliance.
- The
need for regulation is great but other agencies are either unable to
regulate themselves, unable to keep up with the pace of the Internet
and unable to truly address the real issue of punishment for
violations. In today's Internet environment, A Code is only as good
as it's ability to regulate itself. If there is no or very little
regulation, the Code means nothing.
- According
to a Pew Internet & American Life Project study, almost all
surfers surveyed 94 percent say Net firms and top executives
should be punished if they violate a surfer's privacy online.
I do not want to pay fines, can it
be taken off the code?
- No, the fines in the code is the self regulation. This tells the
customer that you have made a commitment to them by stepping up your
level of integrity and customer service.
- Although the fines can not be taken off, a grace period will be
given for the first 90 days after becoming a Licensee - this allows
your Organization time to make necessary changes to avoid the fines.
Typically, minor adjustments can be made to satisfy the requirement
of the Code.
I think the Licensing fees are too high, how much can you discount?
- Since we want to help your Organization, QTL pricing is negotiable
based upon annual sales and commitment time.
- We do have affiliate programs which allow discounts in return for
added exposure and presence of QTL on you Website.
My Organization is already established, why do I need QTL?
- Although your Site is established, there can never be enough said
about an Organizations commitment to trust and consumer confidence.
- Do all the visitors that come to your Site purchase your products
or services? Many times the the number of visitors to your Site will
greatly outnumber the amount of purchasing customers because of
issues like trust, security, availability of products or poor
disclosure of information.
TrustE and other companies are relatively cheaper than QTL providing
the same service, why is QTL so expensive?
- QTL packages everything together for you offering a service the
others do not.
- We want to separate Organizations that are willing to make a
commitment to QTL and our mission. We do not want every website to
have a QT Mark logo and have the logo mean absolutely nothing. The
fees gives QTL the opportunity to promote our cause, work with other
governing bodies, help Licensees grow their relationships with their
customers and create a safer, better internet environment for all.
This undertaking is not easy.
No one knows about QTL yet, what will the logo do for my business?
- Be a leader, not a follower. If you have kept up with the latest
articles, consumer and government resistence against poorly run
websites is now a daily topic. Consumers are not longer being
passive. There are chat rooms, message boards, government listings,
and websites such as BizRate keeping track of all websites. QTL's
mission is not a trend. We are helping Organizations establish the
foundations for long term business. QTL and our policies for our
licensees will not fade away, they are necessities for all
businesses.
- Customers will also see the initiative by your Organization for
improvement. Why not be one of the first to elevate your Organizations
standards in the Industry.
- QTL marketing.
Get real, no one cares about a Code of Ethics? Or do they?
- Statistics have shown that Most of the Top 50 websites have fair
or less than fair customer service ratings according to the Gartner
Group. Also, 4 out of 5 customers have had one bad customer service
experience. Over 28% of all consumers on the internet have not
received thier products when promised and 24% have not received
their products at all.
- The
Code AND penalties for non-compliance is what makes the QTL Code of
Ethics essential to business. It shows they are acheiving the
highest level of commitment to customers by agreeing to the Code and
being penalized by not following the Code.
Why
cant I write my own Code of Ethics?
- Writing
your own privacy statement does not give you as much Credit as it
does from an outside independent Third-Party.
- There
is no regulation and consumers will be able to see that.
- Since
you cannot fine yourself for non-compliance of the Code, there is no
way for your customers to have confidence that your Organization is
acting on behalf of the customer.
How
do you justify a complaint from a customer?
- Customers
are required to provide some sort of written or printed evidence of
non-compliance of the Code.
- Customers
are required to first attempt to solve the problems with the
Licensee first before contacting QTL.
I update my
Website weekly, some of these updates may change the Code of Ethics.
Will I be charged every time I need to make changes to my Code?
- QTL realizes that
all industries are the same. That's why each Licensee will be able
to make modification to the Code that best reflects their business
model. If changes need to be made on a regular basis we will work
out a plan with you.
