Sample Code of Ethical Internet Business Practices
for E-commerce Sites.

Sites that carry the QT Mark have agreed to the following:

1. Security - any and all financial transactions are processed on a secure socket layer that is at least 40 bit encryption and must be identified in the URL starting with https://.

2. Reliability - we agree that our Site will not be down for more than 5 minutes in any 24 hour period. This assumes that the consumer can connect to the Internet by the consumers' network.

3. Privacy - we  have a privacy statement for consumer privacy, display the privacy statement on our site and allow consumers the "opt out", "opt in" option regarding our disclosure of information.

4. Disclosure - we fully disclose all pertinent information about our services, products, all costs involved, availability of products, warranty information, return policy, receipt for goods purchased and terms and conditions of use of Licensee Site. 

5. Claims - all the claims and representations we make in writing on our Site, email and correspondence are true and accurate and up to date.

6. Customer Support Access - we provide a page on our Site for our consumers to access customer service via email, submit form, phone and postal mail.

7. Response to consumer- we agree to display our consumer service response policy on our Site in an area where consumers purchase our products.

8. Delivery - we deliver our products within the timeframe stated on our Site and by the carrier our consumers choose.

9. Return Policy - we process returns within 10 days upon receipt of the item being returned.  

10. Crediting - we agree to credit back all the agreed charges within 10 business days upon receipt of the item being returned.

11. Auditing - We agree that QTL may conduct a Site review at any time to ensure the Site is in compliance with its code.

12. Conduct - we agree to conduct our organization within the laws of the state, province or country in which our organization resides.

Penalties for non-compliance

13. Penalties* - we agree that any report to QTL of failure to comply with any of the rules set forth by this agreement will constitute a penalty of $100 per incident*

14. Revocation - QTL will revoke our right to use the QT Mark if we exceed 100 reported incidents to QTL within the term of the license which is one year. 

15. Compensation - In the event non-compliance to our Code, we will compensate the user that reported the issue to QTL a gift certificate for $25 off their next purchase.

*QTL has provided our organization with a temporary License that includes a 90 day grace period ending on 00/00/00. After that date our Organization will be fully licensed and face financial penalties for non-compliance
