After introducing the revolutionary BW2000 to the world in 1997, Benwin research and development continued. With an investment of over three million dollars in research and development, Benwin found ways to fine tune and improve the sound of its flat panel speakers, which, even in their first generation, were equal to or better than conventional cone-type speakers. Since the vibrating flat panel (less than 7mm thin) could be of any shape, and required no bulky cone, the design possibilities and applications for flat panel technology became practically limitless.
